On August 15th, the Vanasõidukite Juubelisõit took place along the Tallinn - Rakvere route to mark three landmark occasions, organized by the Unic Club in cooperation with the Estonian Union of Vintage Vehicle Clubs.
Three historic events were celebrated:
July 24, 1966: The first-ever historic car exhibition and parade took place in Estonia as part of the Mäksa Drivers' Day.
January 31, 1976: The vintage vehicle club Unic was founded under the "Autom" association.
September 11, 1976: The club organized a long-distance drive starting from Tallinn Town Hall Square and ending in Rakvere. A total of 54 cars and 18 motorcycles participated, all manufactured before 1940.
A traditional highlight of the jubilee drive was traveling together in a single convoy between exhibition sites, featuring passenger cars, motorcycles, buses, and trucks. To mark the 50th anniversary of the organized vintage vehicle movement, vehicles eligible to participate were those whose series production began no later than 1976.
Two cars from our own team took part - a 1982 Mercedes-Benz 500SL and a 1969 Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye S. In addition, it was a genuine pleasure to see vehicles that have passed through our hands and workshop in one way or another. For instance, a 1962 Mercedes-Benz 190SL completed under our roof last year - now adorned with a black license plate - also participated in the drive.
